Paper Page Size Ratio
In the image below you can see a graphical description of the paper dimensions ratio in “A papers series”. As you can see in the image each page is half the size bigger/smaller than the other page. You can also see the A4 page size (standard home printer page size in most countries) compares to other pages in A pages series.
Most paper sizes are set according to ISO 216 (world standard for page sizes). The ISO 216 Standard has 2 sets of page sizes. The distinction between the series is done using the letters A and B. There is also another series of paper sizes marked with C letter and it belongs to another ISO standard.
The more popular paper sizes series is “A series” and it starts from the biggest A0 page size and reaches to the smallest A10 page size. The higher the digit, the smaller the paper size, and vice versa. The Standard paper size at your home printer in most countries is also called an A4 page.

How To Measure Paper Sizes At Home
It is difficult to choose the paper size you need without seeing it in your eyes. Luckily you can find all the paper sizes at home without much effort. As said above the paper we use in our home with most of the printers is A4 paper (in the US there is a different page size called “U.S. Paper but in most countries it’s A4 page). Since each page on the series grows twice the size, we can assemble the large page sizes by connecting several A4 pages. We can also reach smaller paper sizes by folding the A4 page in two.
If you want to see how A5 page looks you can fold A4 page in two and you will get the A5 page size.
If you want to see what A6 looks like, fold the A5 page you created again or alternatively fold an A4 page twice.
If you are interested in seeing how A3 page look like you can place two A4 papers next to each other and you will get the A3 paper size.
And to get to the A1 page size you’ll need to connect 16 pages of A4 together.
By folding A4-size pages or by connecting them, you can reach each of the paper dimensions in A-sizes page series. When you perform the process at home you may want to use the picture that appears at the top of the article under the title “Paper Page Sizes Ratio.” The image displays all of the page sizes and the ratio between them, and it will help you easily reach the desired page size.
